The Federal STC Scheme
When people talk about the “solar rebate” in Australia, they are referring to the Small-scale Renewable Energy Scheme (SRES), which utilizes Small-scale Technology Certificates (STCs).
- How it works: Certificates are created when you install an eligible solar system. The number depends on system size and your location (Zone).
- The Discount: You don't wait for a check. We calculate the STC value and apply it as a direct point-of-sale discount on your quote.
- Phasing Out: The program is designed to end by 2030. Every year on January 1st, the rebate drops by ~10%.
Why you need a CEC Installer
To legally claim STCs, your system must be installed by a Clean Energy Council (CEC) Accredited installer using CEC-approved panels and inverters. As an accredited firm, Queenshine handles all the compliance paperwork for you.
